Our primary resources are steel and aluminum. Both of these materials are easily recycled and have high value in the recycling process. In 2007, Rollex recycled millions of pounds of steel.
The recycling of aluminum saves 90% of the energy it takes to initially make aluminum. This is in stark contrast to vinyl building products that have very low value and are hard to recycle. Most of these vinyl products end up in landfills where they spend hundreds of years leaching toxic chemicals into the earth and groundwater.
